From the South: follow the A68 Jedburgh road to Redesdale or the A696 Ponteland to Otterburn road, which joins the A68 just north of Otterburn. Five miles north of Rochester, on the left hand side of the road opposite the Byrness Hotel, is the Border Park Services and café. About 300 metres farther north take a sharp turn right, signed ‘Service Road Only’. The road leads to Byrness Cottage, Old School House and the Old Rectory. Please park in the bay by Old School House.
If travelling from the north, Byrness village lies on the right hand side of the road south of Catcleugh Reservoir. A few hundred yards further on take the turning on the left signed ‘Service Road Only’ Old School House is on the left.
