Nature & Wildlife

The cottage garden attracts many small birds and we provide feeders (and a supply of food). Birds of prey are often seen in the fields and forests and if you are lucky you may see roe deer, badgers and red squirrels on your walks.

Ospreys have been nesting successfully in Kielder Forest and there is also a Bird of Prey Centre – click here for more information.

If you enjoy visiting gardens don’t miss The Alnwick Garden, or the gardens at Wallington and Cragside. Or head north into the Borders for Traquair, Kailzie, Bowhill and Dawick.

A trip to the Farne islands is an unforgettable experience – be sure to take a hat during the breeding season!
