Local Walks & Paths
Forest and riverside walks are numerous, with something for all levels of ability. For the energetic, the Pennine Way rises steeply from the cottage door to the summit of Byrness Hill and onwards to Chew Green, with sweeping views of Catcleugh Reservoir and the Border Ridge. Or, for a gentle stroll head into the forest or follow the riverside paths and nature trails. Further afield, the stunning Simonside Hills near Rothbury and Hareshaw Linn near Bellingham are firm favourites with our visitors. If guided walks appeal, we recommend you contact Shepherds Walks at www.shepherdswalks.co.uk
